Yoonjin KANG (Korea)

Yoonjin Kang has been appointed as a member of the AIIB Board of Directors, effective April 21, 2026.

He currently serves as Director General of the Development Finance Bureau at the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Korea.

Kang brings extensive experience in public finance, budgeting, taxation and international economic cooperation, with a career spanning senior leadership roles across the Ministry. His previous positions include Director General of the Treasury Bureau and the Economic Budget Bureau, as well as Policy Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy. He has also held key director-level roles covering human resources, international financial cooperation and international tax policy.

In addition to his domestic leadership experience, Kang has a strong international background. He served as Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the United States from 2018 to 2022 and previously worked at the World Bank as a Senior Public Sector Specialist, contributing to public sector and development initiatives.

Kang holds a Doctor of Public Health in Health Policy and Management and a Master of Health Science in Finance and Management from Johns Hopkins University, as well as a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Seoul National University.
