Yong Zhou

As Chief Officer, Yong Zhou acts as the Chief Advisor to the President. His main responsibilities are to assist the President in managing and overseeing AIIB’s key day-to-day operations and activities and coordinating across functions, while ensuring the optimization of decision-making and alignment with AIIB’s overall vision, goals and Corporate Strategy. Zhou also manages the Office of the President. Zhou joined AIIB in February 2016 as Senior Advisor to the President. Prior to joining AIIB, Zhou held a variety of leadership roles at China’s Ministry of Finance, overseeing a large portfolio of multilateral development banks’ financing projects in China, leading policy support for high-level dialogue and financial cooperation with major economies. He also served on the Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank. He holds an M.S. in Finance from the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University. Zhou is from the People’s Republic of China.
