The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has achieved EDGE Move certification, the second level of the globally recognized EDGE standard, in recognition of measurable progress in gender equity and workplace inclusion.
Economic Dividends for Gender Equality (EDGE) is the leading global assessment methodology and business certification standard for gender and intersectional equity. The EDGE Move certification recognizes organizations that have demonstrated measurable progress in creating equitable opportunities across the employee life cycle, including recruitment, career advancement, leadership representation, pay equity and workplace culture. It reflects not only the strength of an organization’s policies and processes but also its ability to translate those commitments into meaningful outcomes.
Reaching this level within its first decade of operation is a notable achievement for AIIB and underscores AIIB’s efforts to build an inclusive, high-performing and globally competitive institution.
“Achieving EDGE Move within AIIB’s first decade reflects the collective commitment, dedication and energy that our people bring every day to building an inclusive, high-performing and globally competitive institution,” said Kaisu Christie, Vice President and Chief Administration Officer at AIIB. “As AIIB continues to expand its global presence and impact, attracting, developing and retaining exceptional talent from around the world remains critical to our long-term success. A strong culture, equitable opportunities and an environment where our people can perform at their best are key drivers of effective collaboration, innovation and mission delivery. This achievement represents much more than a certification; it reinforces our broader ambition to be a Global Employer of Choice and reflects the progress we continue to make under our HR Roadmap 2030.”
“AIIB’s progression to EDGE Move reflects a robust and independently verified approach to advancing gender balance in the workplace. It demonstrates both sustained commitment and measurable progress across workforce representation, pay equity, policies and practices, and workplace culture,” said Aniela Unguresan, Founder of the EDGE Certified Foundation. “Since achieving EDGE Assess in 2021, AIIB has shown that sustainable progress is possible when fairness and inclusion are managed as a business capability and pursued with the same rigor and discipline as any other mission-critical goal.”
AIIB recognizes that building an inclusive workplace is an ongoing journey rather than a single milestone. The insights gained through the EDGE assessment process will continue to guide the Bank’s efforts to strengthen its workplace culture, build on areas of success and address opportunities for further progress.
AIIB extends its appreciation to all staff who contributed to this achievement through participating in surveys, sharing feedback, supporting and contributing to our people initiatives, serving as champions and allies, and helping to foster a workplace where colleagues feel respected, valued and empowered to contribute.
